A royal mantle, or more simply a Mantle, is a garment normally worn by emperors, kings or queens as a symbol of authority. When worn at a coronation, such mantles may be referred to as coronation mantles. Many princes also wear such a mantle.

The Robe Royal (also known as the Pallium Regale, Imperial Mantle or Dalmatic Robe) is a robe worn by the British monarch when they are crowned at their coronation. It is donned just before the monarch is invested with the Orb, Ring and Sceptres. It is worn during the crowning and paying of homage.

Textiles used Also, silk was a popular material used by the wealthy and was imported from Asia. After the crusades, fabrics such as damasks, velvets, and satin were brought back to England, as was samite. Animal skins were also used such as "sheep-skin cloaks… in winter to keep out the cold and rain".

And so, while we cannot know what Queen Esther wore when she approached the throne, I like to imagine her in garments of purple, blue, and revolutionary red. But, more importantly, I like to think that the Divine Presence was wrapped around her too.
